   What We Are Learning
Reading: Students have begun the novel, Tuck Everlasting.  They are exploring the theme of the book: Why would or wouldn’t someone want to live forever?  If you can, read the novel yourself and discuss it with your child.
Social Studies: We will soon be starting our unit on Washington, D.C.  As a culminating activity, students will be constructing gingerbread houses based on major landmarks, monuments, or memorials in our nation’s capital.
Writing: We enjoyed and appreciated seeing so many of you at our “Most Thankful Tea”!  The students were very excited to share their writing with you.  Students continue to work on writing open response questions with lots of evidence from the text.
Math:  Students recently finished a unit on multiplication and division.  We really had to encourage the kids to persevere and not give up, especially on multi-step word problems.  We remind the students that even though the math is hard, they can do it!  Keep studying those math facts!
