  My Wish in 4th Grade!
News from the class of Mrs. Mele & Mrs. Karl

   What We Are Learning
Reading: Reading is thinking!  Students are learning how we will structure our reading workshop.  We are also assessing each student.
Writing: This class is already proving to be an impressive group of writers.  We look forward to hearing all the creative and interesting stories that will be written this year.  With the help of Mr. McGuinness, the students developed a rubric for their writing.  They are learning how to develop a scene of a story by using dialogue, description, and action.
Math: We are working on number sense and place value.  The students are learning how to write numbers in standard form, word form, and expanded form.  We are also sharing strategies for comparing numbers.
PeaceBuilders: The PeaceBuilder principle of the month is: “What is peace?”

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all the families who sent in donations for our classroom.  We really appreciate them!
