   What We Are Learning
Reading: Students have been learning about Author’s Purpose.  Knowing the reason that an author wrote a text can help the reader to know how to read it.  Also, students have started reading many different genres including a realistic fiction about bullying, a nonfiction text about volcanoes, and historical fiction about Lewis and Clark.  They have even performed a Greek myth!
Writing: Students are already bringing a piece of writing to final copy!
Math: We are working on factors and multiples.  If math homework is challenging, please write a note on it and we will review it at school.  Please continue to help your child learn his/her math facts.  Try to make it fun!  Use a deck of cards to play “Multiplication Top It”.
PeaceBuilders: Congratulations to Alan! He was voted September Peacebuilder by the class!
