What We Are Learning
Reading:
Most recently, students read the fable, “The
Lion and the Mouse.” In addition, they
read about and researched real-life unusual animal friendships. Ask your child to tell you the story of Owen
and Mzee. This unusual pair formed their
friendship after a 2004 Asian tsunami.
Writing:
All students entered a contest by trying to convince the StoryWorks editors that they should choose their idea for a spring
2016 nonfiction article. Now, we are
beginning to write spooky stories.
Math:
We are working on factors and
multiples. Please continue to help your
child learn his/her math facts. Try to
make it fun! Use a deck of cards to play
“Multiplication Top It”.
PeaceBuilders:
Congratulations
to Tommy Bushy! He was voted
September Peacebuilder by the class! J
